Edifier’s MR5 monitor speakers are triumphantly multifaceted little boxes of joy, with features crammed into every corner and an answer to pretty much every acoustic question you could ask. As well as throwing you five options for connectivity, they give you powerful control over the particulars via the Edifier ConneX app. A nifty three-driver design, with a downward-facing woofer, makes for speakers that greatly exceed their size in sound profile. If only they weren’t just a little too busy for their own good (more on this in the review proper) they'd get the full five stars, but even now there's so much to celebrate for the money. - Incredible clarity in the high mids
- Excellent low end presence for size…
Cons
- Perhaps a little over-featured
- App control a tad slow
- …but boxiness can build at higher volumes
