🏆 CONSENSUS PICK

The Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 are the premier choice for athletes who demand a secure fit above all else. While they offer excellent audio, ANC, and fitness-tracking features, they come with the trade-offs of a bulky case and high price. For gym-goers, they are an essential upgrade, but casual users may prefer the portability of standard AirPods. If you prioritize stability, buy these; if you prioritize convenience, look elsewhere.

For fitness enthusiasts, the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 offer a compelling package. The improved fit, heart-rate monitoring, and ANC make them a worthy upgrade over their predecessor. • Great battery life

Cons

  • Can be tricky to put on

These are now our hands-down favorite earbuds for exercising and athletics. Our only reservations are that the heart rate monitor always defers to Apple Watch if you have both and that AirPods Pro features like conversation awareness, personalized volume, and adaptive audio should be supported. Software updates could fix all of this.

Pros

  • Lighter and smaller with the same secure ear hook design
  • Greatly improved sound quality
  • Heart rate monitor
  • Impressive battery life

Cons

  • Missing some AirPods Pro features it should have
  • Heart rate monitor is limited if you use an Apple Watch
